Although not much is known regarding the new wearable, it is likely that the new Xiaomi smartwatch is the Mi Watch Lite that was launched globally a few days ago, and is a variant of the original that was released last year. According to the company’s official website, the Lite bears a familiar square LCD display that comes in at 1.4-inches with 320 x 320 resolution. The watch is water resistant at 5ATM and is able to withstand depths of 50m for up to 10 minutes, and its battery is claimed to last up to 9 days of regular use on a full charge. The Mi Watch lite includes built-in GPS which enable users to track workout distance and provide accurate distances for all workouts, without requiring to have their smartphone nearby. Other features include a heart rate monitor and sleep tracking, as well as 11 different workout modes including swimming, cycling, running and so on. As with most smartwatches, it also includes the ability to display notifications and other smart functions. The user’s workout data is synchronised to the Xiaomi Wear app which is available on Android mobile devices. As mentioned earlier, the new Xiaomi Mi Watch Lite was recently launched globally on 13 December 2020, and is available in pink, beige, black, navy blue and green. In European regions, the new wearable is priced at EUR99 (~RM488). We’ll find out soon enough if Malaysia is indeed receiving this new smartwatch from the brand in a couple of days time.
