Now, we’ve got some juicy updates. According to Deadline, one of the Transformers scripts that Paramount is currently working on, is Beast Wars. It’s this script that said to be written by the Murder Mystery scribe. Deadline also reports that Vanderbilt has been working on Beast Wars since last April. Beast Wars was a 90s animated series that centred around Transformers that morphed into freaking animals, which is, of course, the coolest thing in the universe next to Transformers turning into automobiles. The creed of characters, Maximals and Predacons are descendants of Autobots and Decepticons. It’s unclear if the Beast Wars script is set in the same timeline as the Michael Bay Transformers universe. However, Deadline mentioned that the other script written by Joby Harold will be set in the new Bumblebee universe. I’m glad that Paramount hasn’t given up on the Bumblebee universe despite its less than stellar run at the global box office. The movie is really good and had the feel of the old school animated series. However, let’s not get too excited just yet. Just because projects are in development, it doesn’t mean that anything is going to take off. This is especially true for the Transformers franchise. Back in 2017, Paramount was working on 14 different ideas for the franchise.
