Like most earbuds on the market, the T5 True Wireless is designed to simply fit inside your ears without the fear of them falling out by accident or because they are ill-fitting. Specs-wise, the earbuds have 5mm dynamic drivers with moving coils and 4cVC 8.0 microphones built into it. Connectivity is dealt with the latest Bluetooth 5.0 standard, and as you would expect of audio accessories of this calibre, the T5 True Wireless supports Qualcomm’s AptX audio technology. Oh, and AAC2 codec support as well.
The T5 True Wireless also has an IPX4 rating for water and sweat resistant. Having said that, you’re not going to want to actively dive into a pool while having the earbuds stuck in your ears. Performance-wise, the earbuds can deliver up to eight hours of continuous playback; that’s pretty impressive, considering that most earbuds on the current market don’t pack enough stamina to go beyond the five-hour mark. The casing – which is charged via USB-C – is also designed to carry up to three charges for the earbuds. That’s a whopping 24 hours worth of battery packed in something the size of a slightly rotund cigarette lighter.
There’s also the T5 True Wireless’ charging case. Like most cases, it holds a total of three charges for the earbuds, totalling at 24 hours. But the main appeal of housing is its design; at a glance, you would think that it looks like a classic Zippo lighter, and not a charging case. To add to that illusion, it even has that signature metallic “ding” that is iconic of a Zippo lighter.
The Klipsch T6 True Wireless will be available in Singapore starting this week, and will retail for SG$349 (RM1064). We also asked Klipsch’s distributor, TC Acoustic, for local pricing and availability. The company told us that the earbuds would retail for RM1099 and that it was aiming at bringing in the audio accessory by the end of June, at latest. Further, the product will be sold and displayed prominently at select Harvey Norman outlets.
