The news came via a tweet of the official Devil May Cry Twitter account, alongside the box cover arts. The company also reiterated that the digital versions of DMC5SE will be available on the day the next-gen consoles launch. That’s 10 November for the Xbox Series X and S, and 12 November for the PS5.

Before, the company said the same thing about this as it did with physical copies of the game, which is “a later date”. It was easy to assume back then that the Vergil DLC will be available at the same time as the physical edition of the game. But now, it’s as obvious as it gets that it’s not the case. And also for owners of the base game, it’s worth mentioning that you won’t be getting a free upgrade to Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition.
