The new trailer also confirms what Activision has teased before regarding the four playable characters that make up the campaign of the WWII game. And with four characters, the game events shows the dramatised version of the war on four different fronts – the Eastern and Western fronts of Europe, the Pacific and North Africa. Then naturally there’s the pre-order benefits, which includes early access to the open beta. And as is usual for the series by now, this will be available first to those who do so on the PlayStation platform. This will likely apply to both the PS4 and PS5, since the game will be available on both generations of consoles, for both PlayStation and Xbox. This also confirms the existence of the previously leaked cross-gen bundle. Most interestingly, the Call of Duty: Vanguard trailer looks to have completely scrubbed the Activision name, despite it being the publisher. This may have something to do with the ongoing California lawsuit against Activision Blizzard. The publisher may be looking to distance its own name from its most successful franchise, to ensure backlash against the company doesn’t affect the game’s sales. All that being said, Call of Duty: Vanguard will be out on 5 November, for PC and consoles of both brands and both generations. (Source: Activision [1], [2])
