To be clear these custom-skinned EVA Edition components are purely cosmetic and as such, they do not provide any additional boost in performance, save for your PC’s aesthetics, maybe. As evidenced by the images, the colour scheme for both the Z690 Hero and RTX 3090 Eva Edition follows that of EVA-01, the titular mecha piloted by the series protagonist, Shinji Ikari. Decals also include the logo for the NERV HQ, Unit-1, and of course, the ROG emblem. Again, as far as product specifications go, the EVA Edition of the ROG Maximus Z690 Hero is still the same LGA1700 motherboard that supports DDR5, has a robust 20+1 power stage, as well as support for the PCIe 5.0 interface. As for the RTX 3090, we’re still looking at the same 24GB GDDR6X and will require three 8-pin PCIe power connectors to run. Because of its size, the card will also ship out with a RPG Herculx GPU holder to support its weight. Price-wise, there doesn’t seem to be a number for the ROG Maximus Z690 Hero, but the RTX 3090 EVA Edition retails for US$2185 (~RM9512). (Source: Videocardz, Tom’s Hardware, Back2Gaming, Guru3D)
