According to a report by DigiTimes, AMD’s alleged choice of the September timeline is because that is when Computex 2020 is expected to kick off. Traditionally, Computex has always kicked off in the months of May and June. And has been a time when the CPU and GPU maker brings its new products into the light. Unfortunately, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisers pushed the event back to September. At this point, there’s not a lot of confirmed details about the Ryzen 4000 series desktop CPUs. However, it is rumoured that the new processor series, codenamed Vermeer, will make use of the brand’s next-generation Zen 3 CPU microarchitecture and will still be based on an improved and more efficient 7nm die lithography.
In any case, we’re just going to have to take this bit of news with a pinch of salt. At least, until AMD decides to share some official information on the matter with the masses. (Source: Tom’s Hardware, DigiTimes)
